Family.

Let me just talk about something that is so close to us but nearly forgotten.

Family; by freedictionary.com, it is: A fundamental social group in society typically consisting of one or two parents and their children. It is when this group of people lives with one another, wakes up to one another, sleep with one another, and cherish one another.

However, 'family' is often neglected in this fast-paced, individualistic world where most of us are either too busy earning money until we neglect our loved ones, or we're too busy living our lives until we are ungrateful for their existence. It's like, most of us take our family for granted. Some don't even realise that their existence was possible because of the family that brought them up. (of course, with God's will as well)
It's a shame how we, both young and old, don't realise how much pain and troubles the family had to go through for them. It really is. It is especially saddening when people become self-centered individuals until family wasn't their number 1 priority.
It's sad how they don't realise that the time with family will soon disappear as a result of children getting married, or even death. It's even more disheartening when they put friends before family.
Some said they're "grateful" for their family. But are they? Really? All they did was to disappoint the family and yet they're grateful? Wow. Shouldn't you show your gratitude by bringing joy to the family? Or were you grateful because you could use them to get your wants? By that I meant materialistic wants. Because family will be there to provide you money even if you don't have enough. Because parents are working and they can support you.
You know what, if that's why you're grateful, then you should get slapped.
No, ladies and gentlemen. Stop assuming that your parents are able to afford giving you money. They sometimes don't. Especially if you live in a country with high cost of living. You should wake up from that fantasy world of yours where you think your parents are able to support you. Stop being so heartless. Your parents has utilities bills to pay, mortgage to pay, your school fees to pay. Furthermore, they need to buy food to feed you, clothes to cover you, and just all your BASIC NECESSITIES. Your wants are not even necessary.
What you really need to do is spend time with your family/parents for one day, and open your eyes to how much money they need to use to simply provide you with the basic necessities. And you should then realise that your materialistic wants are adding further stress to them.

Stop dreaming that the world revolves around you.
Reality's harsh, baby. It doesn't. It simply doesn't.
So, you need to snap back to reality and realise that your family is crying inside with the additional stress you're giving.
If you're grateful for your family, then you better show them your gratitude by paying it back to them. Cherish them, prioritise them. At the end of the day, the huge ass circle of friends you have, you don't even know if they will be there for you. But your family? Oh I bet you, they would.
Start spending time with them. You're going to miss them once they're gone. And when they're really gone, you're going to regret not spending enough time with them. Give them the love they deserve, stop giving them the heartaches and headaches. All it takes is for all of us to stop being self-centered and start to love. That's all.

Okay, I'm done for tonight.
Don't forget to tell your family you love them, spend time with them and cherish them.
Till then, Goodnight.
